‘Miles for Smiles’ fund-raising run attracts over 50 entrants; already US$25,000 raised for The Smile Train – 28/08/08Source: ©The Moodie ReportBy Martin Moodie
Potential sponsors can contact the participants directly while there are already 13 fundraising pages set up on the www.JustGiving.com site (e.g. www.justgiving.com/rowenaholland or www.justgiving.com/MandyShine) which are linked via the tag: the travel retail smiletrain run. Already those pages have raised over US$25,000 – enough to fund operations on 100 children. There is much more to come. Donors have the choice of sponsoring the event as a whole – or individual participants. The Nuance Group, for example, rightly sceptical about The Moodie Report Publisher’s ability to finish the race, is sponsoring him at £100 per kilometre completed. Miles for Smiles takes place on Saturday 22 November in Dubai commencing at 0800 hrs. The annual Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup Tournament then takes place on 23 and 24 November and the MEDFA conference follows in Abu Dhabi on 25 and 26 November.
