Puig and WDF team up in pioneering cross-category pop-up store at
Heathrow T3
Puig Travel Retail and WDF have teamed up to launch the world's first Paco Rabanne cross-category pop-up shop at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3. The store will be open for an initial three months, coinciding with the busy summer season. The 32sq m Paco Rabanne 'universe' houses fragrances, watches and sunglasses from the brand's portfolio. Hong Kong Customs invokes tough tobacco limits for inbound travellers
The tobacco sector takes another blow as Hong Kong Customs & Excise spells out tough new duty free limits on tobacco for inbound travellers, effective 1 August. This follows the government's budget, announced in February, in which Financial Secretary John Tsang revealed the measures on public health grounds. The new limits affect all travel retailers selling to Hong Kong-bound travellers, including Arrivals shops. Read

BAA (SP) unveils robust retail results for Heathrow and Stansted
BAA (SP), owner of Heathrow and Stansted airports, has announced a strong
retail performance for the first six months. Net retail income rose by +10.2%
despite the severe impact of the volcanic ash crisis and industrial action by BA

LVMH posts strong first half; retail division records healthy growth
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's leading luxury products group, recorded revenue of €9.1 billion in the first half of 2010, up +16%, boosted by double-digit organic revenue growth in all business units. International passenger demand leaps by double digits in June, reports IATA
International passenger demand among the world’s airlines climbed by +11.9% year-on-year in June, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has reported. "There is no indication that the recovery will stall soon," said IATA Chief Executive Giovanni Bisignani. "But, with government stimulus packages tailing off and restocking largely completed, we expect some slowing over the months ahead." Read
