MAp Airports CEO Kerrie Mather salutes ‘huge achievement’ at Sydney Airport
MAp Airports CEO Kerrie Mather has saluted the transformation of Sydney Airport’s International Terminal (T1), following a A$700 million investment programme. As reported, that programme includes an ambitious makeover of T1’s commercial offer, including some 120 new stores and food & beverage outlets. “Sydney Airport is now able to provide passengers with a seamless experience through the airport and, importantly, reduced queuing times,” Mather told The Moodie Report. WDF reaffirms retail commitment to airport duty free tobacco business
WDF has clarified claims made in a UK weekend newspaper that it plans to remove tobacco from its stores. In a statement to The Moodie Report, WDF said that despite suggestions to the contrary in The Sunday Telegraph it remains “totally committed to the tobacco category and that there are no plans to remove tobacco from any of its stores”. Changi Airport Group calls key confectionery tender in Changi Airport Terminal 3
Changi Airport Group has called a tender for a key Chocolate, Candy and Delicatessen concession at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3. The contract (covering a 219sq m store) will run for three years from 9 January 2011, with the option of a two-year extension at the discretion of Changi Airport Group. DFS is the incumbent retailer. Peter Eriksson set to leave Zürich Airport
Zürich Airport Chief Commercial Officer Peter Eriksson is to step down from his role at the end of September, the company announced this week. The highly respected executive will not be lost to the industry however; in future he will exert his knowhow in marketing, retail and real estate on a self-employed basis for national and international projects, especially with airports and in retail business. Eriksson has been the driving force behind the powerful, diverse commercial offer at the airport for the past eight years and a key champion of the industry 'Trinity'.
