SINGAPORE. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced today that four airlines – Air India, Air India Express, Asiana Airlines and Korean Air – will operate from Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 with effect from 29 March.

CAAS Director-General and Chief Executive Officer Lim Kim Choon said: “By operating from Terminal 2, the four airlines will have more capacity for their future growth and expansion. The airlines’ move from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 will also better distribute capacity usage across the three main terminals and optimise the usage of airport facilities.”

The moves have major significance for retail sales in each of the affected terminals. Korean carriers Asiana Airlines and Korean Air handle one of Changi's highest-spending passenger groups, though the Korean travel retail spend has been hit in recent months by the country's troubled financial climate. Indians also are good spenders at Changi.

To inform passengers and airport visitors about the move, CAAS will be updating the airport directories, signs and electronic displays at Changi Airport.

Flight schedules in Singapore time for the last flights at Terminal 1 and first flights at Terminal 2 for the four airlines
