HONG KONG. King Power (Hong Kong) Group Managing Director and Founder Antares Cheng has been awarded the title of ‘World’s Outstanding Chinese of the Year’, as well as an Honorary Doctorate.
This annual award is a yardstick for evaluating extraordinary lifetime achievements by a Chinese person.
The ceremony, which took place on 17 November at the Hong Kong Convention Centre, was attended by a number of dignitaries, friends, business associates and family members.
Cheng's pioneering achievements, particularly in the duty free business, were noted in the ceremony’s honorary speech. His visionary sense of business and personal integrity were described as ‘profound and singular’.
