Nuance pioneers Lindt concept store at Zürich Airport

SWITZERLAND. The Nuance Group today announced the debut of a new Lindt chocolate concept store at Zürich Airport, said to be a first for the travel retail industry.

The shop, situated on Level 2 of the Airside Center, "introduces a host of new and unique elements which have been developed to provide customers with a more personalised shopping experience", the travel retailer said.

Passengers travelling through Zürich can select Lindt Délice from a dedicated counter and drink a cup of Lindt hot or iced chocolate at the store’s chocolate bar before boarding their flight. The full product range is offered, as well as a new Pick & Mix of some of the Swiss chocolatier’s most popular products.

Next month, Nuance is set to develop the offer further when it adds a separate ice cream counter.

“This opening marks a new stage in our long-term collaboration with Lindt, who share our passion in creating innovative retail experiences for customers,” commented The Nuance Group CEO Europe Andrea Belardini. “This new store concept further reinforces our expansive retail portfolio at Zürich, and reaffirms our commitment to delivering a world-class retail environment.”

This latest announcement reflects Nuance’s ongoing commitment to developing and reinvigorating its European business, which spans more than 230 stores in 40 countries across the region. This year the group plans to invest around CHF20 million (US$24.5 million in its European operations, refurbishing or developing more than 7,500sq m of retail space across its portfolio.

KEY NUANCE INITIATIVES ACROSS EUROPE

The new Lindt concept store is one of several key initiatives being rolled out across Nuance’s European business in 2011.

Last month, Nuance launched Switzerland’s first Arrivals stores at Geneva and Zürich airports, and is set to add a second Arrivals shop at Zürich this month.

Later this year, Nuance will introduce new state-of-the-art walkthrough concepts for its existing Tax Free stores at Zürich, as well as a new walk-through store at Lisbon, both of which will feature the company’s new Boutique concepts and innovative interactive developments recently launched at Antalya Airport in Turkey.
