Werther’s branches into chocolate segment with new exclusive

The development of the new Werther’s Original Chocolate Specialties & Caramelts marks a new era for the brand in branching into the popular chocolate segment
UK. Storck Travel Retail is launching the new Werther’s Original Chocolate Specialties & Caramelts in travel retail next January.

Previewed at the TFWA World Exhibition last month, the travel retail exclusive 305g premium pouch is set to play an important role in the informal gifting segment, Storck said.

This development of the Werther’s chocolate range marks a new era for the brand in branching into the popular chocolate segment and in joining Storck’s major chocolate specialty brands: Toffifee and Merci.

The new range combines Werther’s trademark butter candy with quality chocolate in six assortments: Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate Caramel, Caramel Mousse, Dark Chocolate Caramel, and Caramelt.

The 2011 launch programme will include silent tastings, sampling, promotions, GWPs, and the use of personalised POS and visuals.

Werther’s Original is Storck’s most international brand, with distribution in over 80 countries.

Other developments

Following the 1 September launch of its Twitter site, Storck has announced plans to revamp its website (www.storck-tr.com) in 2011 in a bid to heighten communication and interactivity with key trade partners.

The company is also in the process of reinventing its travel retail POS – offering one, two, three and four-sided gondolas, lightboxes, display visuals, and pillar facings to cater for specific retailer needs and requirements.
