BELGIUM. Godiva Chocolatier will unveil its new Gems and Tablets Collections at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas (Booth 733).

Exclusive to travel retail, the Godiva Gems Collection is a line of individually wrapped chocolates featuring three varieties: Gems Truffles, Gems Caramels and Gems Thins. Available in rich milk or dark chocolate, the collection is presented in brightly coloured, jewel tone boxes featuring what Godiva describes as an original ‘click-click’ lid. Once released, the chocolates empty into the cavity of the lid for sharing among family and friends.

Godiva Gems will be available as from February 2010 in travel retail exclusive boxes, containing a single variety of truffles, caramels or thins.

The new Godiva Chocolate Tablets collection includes four tablets: Milk Chocolate, 72% Dark Chocolate, 72% Dark Chocolate with Almonds, and 85% Extra Dark Santo Domingo.

The Milk Chocolate tablet is made with 31% cocoa and accented with hints of caramel, while the 72% Dark Chocolate is smooth and balanced with subtle warm baked notes.

72% Dark Chocolate with Almonds features crunchy roasted almond pieces in dark chocolate made with 72% cacao.

The 85% Extra Dark Santo Domingo is made with cocoa beans originating from the Caribbean island of Santo Domingo, with a hint of berry note.

The tablets are available as from February 2010 for individual purchase or in multi-pack tablets. The latter format is exclusive to travel retail.

Godiva’s focus at the IAADFS show will continue to be on international travel retail locations in the Americas and Caribbean, including continued development in major airports, cruise ship and border locations. Future projects include shop-in-shop locations, personalised space and fixtures to support the continued growth of the brand.
