L&L to introduce new packaging and flavour for Alizé in 2013

The Alizé Passion range will be rebottled in clear glass with clearer labeling in 2013
L&L, owned by New York-based Kobrand Wine & Spirits, is changing the bottles and branding of its Alizé Passion fruit cognac range and launching a new mango-based drink.

Alizé Passion will be packaged in clear glass bottles (rather than the current frosted glass), with more legible labeling; caps will be the same bright silver colour for the whole range. The switch is planned to take place in the first quarter of 2013 for all the brand’s major markets (including the US, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK) and the roll-out for remaining markets will happen gradually over the year.

The company’s new Mango Smoothie will be officially launched at a presentation for Prowein in March 2013. The packaging and branding is still under development, but L&L Marketing Manager Marie Barčs confirmed to The Moodie Report that the bottle will have a silver-coloured coating to protect the “very fresh liquid inside”.

Cannes retrospective

Alizé Mango Smoothie was served on the L&L stand at the TFWA World Exhibition in October. Barčs said the new flavour went down well and the show was very ‘fruitful’ for the company.

“We were quite well prepared and had a lot of appointments with current customers and potential customers,” she said. “Our agenda was full but we still made new and interesting contacts during the show.”

As a result of the show, L&L is in discussions with a South American operator, and it is anticipated that a distribution agreement will be reached in coming months, according to Barčs. They are also in discussion with DFA for the US market.

Also owing to their work in Cannes, the company came to an agreement last week with Nuance and Setur for the Turkish duty free market. Consequently, Alizé will be present in all major Turkish airports, and the first order is expected to come in before the end of 2012.

L&L Sales Manager Séverine Chomat has confirmed that the company’s Australian distributor has got a listing with Nuance Australia, and Alizé will be present in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth airports next year.
