Nuance unveils crystallised Bombay Sapphire exclusive in Sydney

AUSTRALIA. The Nuance Group and Bacardi Global Travel Retail are offering travellers at Sydney Airport the chance to buy one of only four Bombay Sapphire bottles hand-decorated with thousands of Swarovski crystals.

Priced at A$4,000 (US$3,960), each one-litre bottle is encrusted with over 10,000 Austrian crystals in four different sizes and colours: Aquamarine, Jet, Crystal and Light Colorado Topaz.

Expert craftsmen have worked with “painstaking care and precision” to create the limited edition bottles, Nuance said. One-by-one the stones have been carefully placed in position by hand so that they are all in contact with their neighbours and no space is left undecorated.

Each of the limited edition crystallised bottles of Bombay Sapphire comes with its own white leather case and will be on sale in Terminal 1 of Sydney Airport until 6 January 2011.

Commenting on the launch, Bacardi Global Travel Retail Division Director – Asia Pacific Aude Rocourt said: “Australia is an important market for Bombay Sapphire so in the run-up to Christmas we wanted to work with Nuance to create something special in Sydney Airport. This limited edition is the perfect celebration of the iconic Bombay Sapphire bottle loved by consumers.”

Bombay Sapphire is created with ten exotic botanicals hand-selected from around the world. During a process called ‘vapour infusion’ the spirit is heated until its vapour rises through a copper basket holding the ten botanicals.

The vapour captures the fresh flavours and aromas of the botanicals to create a distinctive, complex, aromatic liquid that has a broader, more balanced spectrum of flavours on the palate, added Bacardi Global Travel Retail.
