HONG KONG. King Power (Hong Kong) Group Managing Director and Founder Antares Cheng has been rewarded with yet another personal accolade, and named one of China’s ‘Top Ten Financial and Intelligent Persons’ for 2007.
The award recognises people who have made an outstanding contribution to economic development and business innovation in China. It comes just weeks after Cheng was awarded the title of ‘World’s Outstanding Chinese of the Year’, as well as an Honorary Doctorate.
The awards ceremony for the ‘China Top 10 Financial and Intelligent Persons’ was held in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, where China hosts visiting foreign dignitaries.
The selection was based on two major parts: a public electronic voting system via cnelect, sina and sohu websites, and evaluation by the China Top Ten Financial & Intelligent Persons Election Committee. Cheng was selected for his contribution to the travel retail industry and the innovation he has applied across his portfolio of businesses.
In his acceptance speech, Cheng said he was very pleased to receive the award. He dedicated the award to his staff, saying it reflected the teamwork of the people at King Power Group.
