Frédérique Constant's Delight model with round case, retailing at €775
SWITZERLAND. As it celebrated its first listing with travel retail giant DFS Group, Frédérique Constant put the spotlight on its rose gold watches at the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore last month.

The Swiss manufacturer displayed its new rose gold cases for men as well as the brand new Delight women's collection, which features round or square cases, available with rose gold plating or all stainless steel. The watch has a croco calfskin strap and a bracelet. Models come with or without diamonds.

The company also introduced a tonneau-shaped, rose gold case for women in its successful Art Deco range. The bezel is set with diamonds, while the dial features both Roman and Arabic numerals in either silvered or mother of pearl versions. Existing models in the Art Deco collection also feature new rose gold cases.

The company has also gained its inaugural listing with DFS Group, where the brand has begun selling at the retailer's downtown Hong Kong boutique. Other new airport shop listings include Dufry at Singapore Changi, World Duty Free at London Heathrow Terminal 5 and Hong Kong International with Nuance-Watson.

Frédérique Constant's inflight success continues, as it achieved its first listing with Singapore Airlines, starting from this month. Other airlines carrying the brand include KLM, British Airways, South African Airways, Virgin Atlantic, China Airlines and Qantas.

The brand is performing well onboard cruise ships operated by Starboard Cruise Services, according to Travel Retail Area Manager Paul Martin.

Speaking about trends in the travel retail watch market, Martin noted: "In duty free, we're finding that the average price of watches is going up. We're selling more mechanical watches as people are trading up."

He added: "The entire watch industry grew +17% last year, but our company exceeded that, growing by +49% We produced 100,000 pieces."

In a charity initiative, Frédérique Constant makes a donation to the International Children's Heart Foundation with sales of its Double Heart Beat watch. The company's charity ambassador, and face of its ad campaigns, is Croatian-born singer Nina Badric.

Frédérique Constant offers watches retailing from €350 to €28,800, following the launch of limited-edition tourbillon models in rose gold or white gold.
