HONG KONG. Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) today announced the results of its recent tenders, issued in September this year, for speciality retail and dining outlets in Terminals 1 and 2.

A total of 15 operators of speciality retail outlets were selected from around 100 tender submissions.

In enhancing what Airport Authority Hong Kong described as “the recently enriched trade mix” at the West Hall of Terminal 1, a number of prestigious international brands will make their first foray into HKIA. These include Fauchon Paris, a well-known deluxe delicatessen, as well as fashion brands such as Links of London and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Two new lifestyle brands, Lacoste and Tonino Lamborghini, will open at East Hall level 7. In addition, a number of specialty local brands will join the Disney Shop which will open in the first quarter of 2009 at the expanded new space on Level 7 of East Hall in Terminal 1.

These shops, which Airport Authority Hong Kong said will form a strong presentation of Hong Kong, are a home & gifts shop by Shanghai Tang, Fook Ming Tong, Eu Yan Sang, Amazing Grace, Aji-Ichiban, Wing Wah, and Giordano.

The catering tender attracted four popular brands which will begin operating from January to March 2009. These dining outlets include:

 Super Super Congee and Noodles, run by Café de Coral Group and which makes its first appearance at HKIA with its new location in the Arrival Pre-Immigration Area (East Hall Transfer area);
 A Starbucks Coffee outlet at the Arrivals Greeting Hall;
 A Mix outlet, also at the Arrivals Greeting Hall;
 An Espressamente illy outlet at the North Concourse.

Airport Authority Hong Kong commented: “This overall trade-mix enhancement is not just limited to Terminal 1. Several iconic Hong Kong – as well as international – brands will open their shops at both Terminal 1 and 2.

"These new brands, ranging from traditional Chinese medicine to unique fashion lines include notables such as Eu Yan Sang, Fook Ming Tong, Giordano, Lacoste and the first-ever outlet concept at HKIA and even in Hong Kong by Shanghai Tang."
