British look and feel: The Cross women's accessories collection for Fall 2008 (top); Above: The men's range
US. Cross has reinterpreted British traditions in its new accessories collection, taking inspiration from one of the fashion directions for Fall 2008.

The company has incorporated the look and feel of British fabrics into its pens, business totes, leather and stationery. Fashionable colours and detailing are used.

The collections will debut in September 2008.

CROSS TOWN COMPUTER BAG COLLECTION

Signature elements of the new Cross Town computer bags include modern plaids, purple, grey and brown colours, with gunmetal hardware. The interior design performs as a laptop bag, but the exterior aims to be stylish.

This Fall’s softly structured bags are said to mix preppy menswear fabrics with patent leather and contrast edge tipping for a twist on classic design. They are available in five styles and six colours.

Features of each bag include: protective, padded compartment that fits a standard slim laptop computer (in most styles a 15in PC or 13-15in Mac); Cross mini pen in dangling charm; interior pockets including triple pen holder, mobile phone pocket, accessory pocket and interior zip pocket. Suggested retail prices range from US$195-US$325.

CENTURY II PAISLEY PEN

This limited-edition ballpoint pen blends paisley with soft metallics to create a sophisticated wrap-around pattern. The ombre colour effects and whimsical paisley print are overlaid on shiny metallic lacquer. The pen features lustrous, chrome-plated appointments. It is available in three colours, with a suggested retail price of US$60.

APOGEE EXECUTIVE COLLECTION

The new Apogee Executive pen collection is made from precious metals and inspired by the texture of twill fabric. The engraved design is said to feel sculptural to the touch. The collection has a proprietary deep-cut design and a hand-polished finish for gem-like brilliance, according to the company.

This collection will be available in: sterling silver with platinum-plated appointments; sterling silver with gold-plated appointments; 18ct rose-gold plate with platinum-plated appointments; and 23ct heavy-gold plate with gold-plated appointments. The pens are available as ballpoint, Selectip rolling ball and fountain pen with an 18ct solid gold nib. Suggested retail prices range from US$150 to US$290.

WOMEN’S AUTOCROSS LEATHER WALLETS

The Autocross Leather Collection features rhythmically placed perforations in contrasting tones and includes a selection of wallets and card cases, each made from supple, pebbled leather. Among the women’s items are envelope and accordion wallets, bifold wallets, pouches and card cases, each with leather-lined interiors.

Colours include black with turquoise accents, brown with pink accents, pink with orange accents, and bronze. A Cross mini pen with textural engraving and telescoping twist action is integrated into the design of each wallet for a quick note or signature.

Suggested retail prices range from US$55 to US$95.

MEN’S AUTOCROSS MONEY PIECES

Inspired by design elements of the Streamline Era of the 1930s, the new accessories for men are based on utility, including a ready-to-use mini pen. The full grain leather, in brown and black, is run through a tumbling process that is said to enhance the softness of the leather and create a natural pebbled appearance, while also immersing the leather for maximum colour saturation.

The men’s leather collection includes bifold wallets, trifold wallets, card cases and coat wallet. A SIM card pocket is integrated on most styles. Suggested retail prices range from US$45 to US$85.

CROSS SIGNATURE JOURNALS

These journals feature contrasting perforations and stitching and incorporate a mini pen. The high-quality, lined paper is acid-free; a brown ribbon marker indicates the desired page. An expandable pocket on the inside back cover holds notes. The leatherette journals come in brown with orange trim, violet with grey trim, or pink with red trim. An additional pen loop accommodates all full-size Cross writing instruments. The suggested retail price is US$20 for the small size, US$25 (medium) and US$30 (large).
