Bologna Airport issues major retail tender

ITALY. Bologna Airport (Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna SpA) has issued a major retail tender covering duty free and duty paid stores in the Schengen and non-Schengen areas of the terminal.
The contract will run for ten years from 1 January 2011, with submissions due by 31 August. The move comes amid an overhaul of the passenger terminal, which will be completed between H1 2012 and H1 2013.
The tender covers the following units:
– A 455sq m walk-through duty paid store, plus 100sq m of warehouse space, in the Schengen departures hall (upon completion of the upgrade)
– A 283sq m duty free store in the non-Schengen departures hall (upon completion of the upgrade)
– A 113sq m Schengen departures duty paid store, plus store room
– An 85sq m duty free store in the non-Schengen departures hall, plus store room
– Two back office/warehouse spaces on the second floor of the terminal
Bologna Airport said: “Expressions of interest for this tender will be accepted from Italian and international economic operators who can prove they have consolidated, continuous experience (of at least ten years) of managing duty free and duty paid shops within the national or international airport industry.”
