UAE. The annual Middle East Duty Free Association (MEDFA) conference begins today, following an opening cocktail sponsored by Dufry Sharjah last night.
Some 370 delegates have registered for the event, underlining the importance of the region to the travel retail channel.
This morning’s programme begins with an introduction by lead moderator, The Moodie Report Deputy Publisher Dermot Davitt, who will be followed by a keynote address from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Emirates Airline.
MEDFA President Anthony Chalhoub will then present, followed by Stephen Cole, a news broadcaster from Al Jazeera.
