The Conway Stewart Charles Darwin limited edition
|
UK. Luxury pen maker Conway Stewart has introduced the Charles Darwin limited edition, a hand-painted pen to commemorate the life and work of the famous English naturalist.
The company chose Charles Darwin, famed for his work on the theory of evolution, due to a historical link between him and Conway Stewart’s home town of Plymouth.
On 27 December, 1831, Darwin set sail from Plymouth harbour on the exploration that would lead to his definitive work, The Origin of Species.
The Charles Darwin edition's artwork shows Darwin’s face from his later years, while the barrel is covered with scenes drawn from his life's work. Each has been signed by the artist.
The Charles Darwin has been fitted with an 18 carat solid gold nib and bands and comes in a luxury Conway Stewart presentation case. There are just 25 pieces available in fountain pen or roller ball for £1,455.
