AUSTRALIA. Construction of a A$47 million (US$49.2 million) eight-storey car park at Sydney Airport’s International Terminal will start this week. Sydney Airport CEO Kerrie Mather said: “We have recently undertaken a review of the different parking needs of passengers, family and friends. What that showed us was that our parking products needed to be updated to reflect our changing passenger mix.”

NEW ZEALAND. Auckland International Airport Limited has posted a solid +15.1% increase in underlying profit to NZ$120.87 million (US$100 million) for the 2011 financial year ended 30 June 2011. This performance was attributed to a +9.5% increase in total income to NZ$397.72 million, driven by "better than expected" retail results in the new departures area and a stronger yield in car parking, particularly through the new online booking channel.

DENMARK. Copenhagen Airports today reported a strong first-half performance, which saw a +9.2% year-on-year rise in passenger numbers spur an increase in total retail sales and sales per passenger. The traffic increase helped deliver more parking customers and higher sales in the shopping centre, said the company.
